Volunteers are the soul of our organization, and we are happy you are considering joining our family! You will play critical role in helping us save even more cats and dogs. We have needs for everything from animal care to office administration. Let us know how you'd like to help.

Dog Team - The Dog Team volunteers are vital in getting our adoptable dogs out of their kennels for walks, doing essential cleaning and laundry, facilitating play groups in the yard and providing much needed pets and snuggles.
Cat Team - The Cat Team takes care of our adoptable cats by cleaning, playing and providing a much-needed warm lap and snuggles.
Office - Answer the phone, help with data entry, adoption contracts, finalize adoptions and greet visitors that come into the shelter looking for information or a new pet.
Events - Help out when we go out into the community. Get our booth ready and share your love of animals and Town and Country with everyone that visits.
Food Pantry - Pick up food donations, organize pet food and hand out pet food to the community during our monthly public food pantry events.
Chip n' Clip Clinic Plus Low-Cost Vaccines - Help check pets in, assist with nail trims and collect donations for services. Qualified Vet Tech volunteers need to administer vaccines.

Join our Board of Directors

Use your voice, connections and talent to make a difference and help us grow. Town and Country Animal Rescue is seeking motivated individuals to join our Board of Directors. Candidates must be committed to our mission, ready to take on a leadership position, and want to help direct a growing organization. We are seeking members who can actively engage in and guide efforts to shape and strengthen our programmatic direction, strategic vision, financial stability, and community presence.

The ideal candidate is someone who can be effective at raising awareness of Town and Country Animal Rescue's mission. Individuals with experience in tech, human resources, legal, marketing or finance, and those with an entrepreneurial spirit, are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Represent Town and Country to stakeholders and act as an ambassador for the organization.
Review and, when necessary, update the organization’s Strategic Plan, ensuring that operations are consistent with the goals and priorities outlined in the Strategic Plan.
Review key performance indicators to evaluate impact and progress.
Approve the Town and Country annual budget, be informed of, and meet all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities.
Take on special assignments when necessary.
Consider Town and Country Animal Rescue a philanthropic priority and make financial and volunteer contributions that meet or exceed the organization’s give or get.

Expectations

Commit to a two-year term, which can be renewed upon Board approval for re-election.
Participate in monthly board meetings which are generally in-person, in Omaha.
Be an active participant in all meetings and take initiative.
Be an advocate for Town and Country Animal Rescue and raise awareness for our work.
Make a financial commitment to donate or raise funds by actively participating in fundraising initiatives (give or get).
Help further our mission and programs by giving of your time, skills, knowledge, resources, and networks.
